MLB Wednesday Daytime Action: Four Games to Choose From

So, you’re looking for something to do tomorrow? Work got rained out? Or you decided to take a long lunch? There are four Major League baseball games tomorrow at 12:30 PM. Bovada is a good place to go for some baseball action.

The best match-up will take place in the American League East when the Toronto Blue Jays will visit the Tampa Bay Rays for the rubber game of their three game series. The Rays are currently in second place at 26-18 while the jays are in third at 24-20. James Shields will take the hill for the Rays, coming off a loss in his last start against Atlanta, dropping his record to 6-2. He will be opposed by Ricky Romero, who is 5-1 and actually has a better ERA than Shields. This should be a good one.

You can bet on the point spread which is Jays +1.5 or bet the game straight up. A $20 bet on the Rays -1.5 will win you $34. Betting $20 on them straight up will win you $18 on Bovada. A $20 bet on the Jays with +1.5 will win you $9.5 and straight up a $20 bet will win you $20.

The Mets will take on Pittsburgh with Jon Niese going for the Mets. Niese is 2-2 with a 4.85 ERA. Charlie Morton will be on the bump for the Pirates. He is 2-4 but has a better ERA than Niese at 4.35. $20 on the Mets will win you $18 and $20 on the Bucs will win you also win you $18.

The same odds apply for the Red Sox vs. the Orioles in the rubber game of their series. The first place Birds will send Jake Arrietta at 2-4 to the mound to oppose Dan Bard for the Sox. Bard is 3-5. Both pitchers ERAs are almost identical. This is a pickem game.

And last but not least, the Giants with Barry Zito will meet Milwaukee and Marco Estrada. Zito is 3-1 with a 3.00 ERA. Estrada is 0-3 but a not too bad 4.63. $20 on the Giants with +1.5 will win you $10. Straight up, a $20 bet on the Giants will win you $23. $20 on the Brewers at -1.5 will win you $33. Straight up, $20 will win you nearly $15. Not sure why the Brewers are favored in this one. With Zito, the match up seems to favor the Giants.

Where is my $20? I took the Rays -1.5. I’m thinking now I might have been better off putting it on Zito. We’ll soon see.
